چکیده
Coupling $N$ identical emitters to the same field mode is well-established method enhance light matter interaction. However, resulting $\sqrt{N}$ boost of coupling strength comes at cost a "linearized" (effectively semi-classical) dynamics. Here, we instead demonstrate new approach for enhancing constant \textit{single} quantum emitter, while retaining nonlinear character light-matter We consider single emitter with nearly degenerate transitions that are collectively coupled mode. show in such conditions an effective Jaynes-Cummings model emerges, boosted order $\sqrt{N}$. The validity and consequences our general conclusions analytically demonstrated instructive case $N=2$. further observe system can closely match spectral line shapes photon autocorrelation functions typical physics, hence proving optical nonlinearities retained. Our findings up very well recent broadband plasmonic nanoresonator strong-coupling experiments will therefore facilitate control detection single-photon ambient conditions.

Single photon absorption by a single quantum emitter.
We show that a three-level lambda quantum emitter with equal spontaneous emission rates on both optically active transitions can absorb an incident single-photon pulse with a probability approaching unity, provided that the focused light profile matches that of the emitter dipole emission. Even with realistic focusing geometries, our results could find applications in long-distance entanglement...
متن کاملThe Dicke model in quantum optics: Dicke model revisited.
A short review of recent developments of the Dicke model in quantum optics is presented. The focus is on the model in a cavity at zero temperature and in the rotating wave approximation. Topics discussed include spectroscopic structures, the giant quantum oscillator, entanglement and phase transitions.

The formulation of Brans-Dicke (BD) gravity with matter in the Einstein frame is realized as Einstein gravity with dilaton and dilaton coupled matter. We calculate the one-loop 4d anomaly–induced effective action (EA) due to N dilaton coupled massless fermions on the time dependent conformally flat background with non-trivial dilaton. Using such (complete) effective action, the (fourth-order) q...
متن کاملQuantum Criticality in the Biased Dicke Model
The biased Dicke model describes a system of biased two-level atoms coupled to a bosonic field, and is expected to produce new phenomena that are not present in the original Dicke model. In this paper, we study the critical properties of the biased Dicke model in the classical oscillator limits. For the finite-biased case in this limit, We present analytical results demonstrating that the excit...
متن کاملQuantum criticality in a generalized Dicke model
We employ a generalized Dicke model to study theoretically the quantum criticality of an extended two-level atomic ensemble interacting with a single-mode quantized light field. Effective Hamiltonians are derived and digonalized to investigate numerically their eigenfrequencies for different quantum phases in the system. Based on the analysis of the eigenfrequencies, an intriguing quantum phase...
